💡 Bridging Data Silos for a Fortune 500 Client
When onboarding a major financial firm in the fleet management space, we faced a key challenge: their transaction data came in fragmented flat files with no unique identifiers. Matching fuel purchases on company cards to users and vehicles was essential — not just for reconciliation, but to deliver actionable insights and unlock reward programs.
I architected and implemented a custom ETL solution that generated synthetic unique identifiers using natural keys and timestamps. Each incoming data file was mapped to a schema, with intelligent matching logic aligning vehicles, customers, and telematics data across systems. We fully automated this process, tagging new customers and enabling contextual, real-time reporting.
📈 The results? The client gained end-to-end visibility into who made each transaction, with what vehicle, and when — allowing them to tailor promotions, sync service alerts with discounts, and elevate their offering from basic reporting to strategic value-add.
